    Abstract: The invention relates to plant seeds enclosed by a germination improving capsule (1, 2) having a water absorbing ability, which capsule by water absorption may form a loose, partially light transmitting structure enclosing the seed (5), which structure may easily be penetrated by the germinating seed. A suitable capsule material is compressed peat. The invention also relates to a method of preparing such seed capsules.
