The liquid discharge mechanism comprises a devices (31) for applying an inwardly directed pressure to a pouch wall closely adjacent to the junction position (34) so as to increase the angle (62) defined between the pouch wall and the plane at right angles to the longitudinal axis (13) of the discharge passage (18), whereby the discharge passage (18) may be opened.
