  • Patent number: 8692539
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Faraday sensor assembly comprising a first light guiding element adapted to guide electromagnetic radiation along a first propagation direction, and a second light guiding element adapted to guide electromagnetic radiation along a second propagation direction, the second propagation direction being essentially oppositely arranged relative to the first propagation direction. The Faraday sensor assembly further comprises a measurement region arranged between the first and second light guiding elements, the measurement region being adapted to receive an electrically conducting element having, in the measurement region, its primary extension direction in a direction being essentially perpendicular to the first and second propagation directions. The present invention further relates to methods and systems for stabilizing output signal from the sensors, and to methods and systems for processing signals from the sensor assembly.

  • Patent number: 8319723
Abstract: A method and a system for improving the psychovisual experience of watching a display are presented. Measurements on the ambient light are performed by a sensor element, from which characteristics of the ambient light are derived. These are subsequently applied in a light-source adjustment model to determine the output of the light-source element. Moreover, a method and a system for adjusting the output of a light-source element by a feed-back loop involving the output from the light-source element and the input to a sensor element are revealed. In addition, the sensor element is also employed for adjusting the output of an electronic display by applying the results of the measurements to a preference model.

  • Patent number: 8159616
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and corresponding system for improving the perceived visual quality of images for instance displayed on a color television screen. According to the invention, there is provided a means for carrying out histogram processing (13) for scaling an input video signal (6) such that the maximum dynamic range is utilised and where the quality of the perceived image is also optimised. According to the invention, the histogram processing (13) provides a transfer function for the image pixels to obtain enhanced image dynamics and also to provide a chrominance gain (gc) for scaling the chrominance components, when the luminance has been changed by the histogram processing. According to the invention, the histogram processing can also take variations of the ambient light into account (5).
