  • Patent number: 12208186
Abstract: The present invention pertains to an extracorporeal blood treatment device (1), preferably a hemodialysis device, hemofiltration device, or hemodiafiltration device, comprising a fluidic system (2) having a connection point (20) for adding substances, a detection arrangement (4) for detecting a flow of a substance at the connection point (20), wherein the detection arrangement is configured to generate a flow signal, when a flow of a substance is detected at the connection point (20), and a control unit (5), which is communicatively connected to the detection arrangement (4). The control unit (5) is furthermore configured to output a signal (50) in reaction to a received flow signal. The present invention furthermore pertains to a corresponding method for monitoring at least one connection point.

  • Patent number: 11679191
Abstract: A device and method are provided for monitoring access to a patient by a device that withdraws liquid from the patient and/or supplies liquid to the patient, via a flexible line. A vessel access can be monitored during an extracorporeal blood treatment for which the blood of a patient is withdrawn via a flexible arterial line having an arterial puncture cannula, and supplied to the patient via a flexible venous line having a venous puncture cannula. The monitoring device has a line guide for loosely guiding a line segment of the flexible line. By detecting a change in situation of the loosely guided line segment, a conclusion is made as to whether an incorrect vessel access has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20210220536
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical device having one or more functional units which are configured to interact with one or more disposables in the operation of the device, wherein the medical device furthermore has one or more illuminants, and wherein the device can be operated in different treatment modes, wherein at least one control unit or regulation unit is provided which are configured such that they control the illuminants in dependence on the selected treatment mode of the medical device in which the medical device is or should be operated, with the illuminants being arranged such that the light emanating from them at least partly illuminates the one or more functional units. The invention furthermore relates to a method of operating a medical device.

  • Publication number: 20210154388
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a treatment system for treatment of a patient, in particular a treatment system for performing a hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, and/or peritoneal dialysis. The system can include a treatment device, which comprises at least one seat for receiving a corresponding section of a consumable, and having a consumable received in the seat of the treatment device. The seat can comprise an alphanumerical identifier and the section of the consumable received in the seat can comprise an alphanumerical identifier matching the alphanumerical identifier of the corresponding seat.

  • Publication number: 20200405942
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for monitoring access to a patient for a device by means of which a liquid is withdrawn from the patient and/or supplied to the patient via a flexible line, in particular for monitoring vessel access during extracorporeal blood treatment, in which blood of a patient is withdrawn from the patient via a flexible arterial line having an arterial puncture cannula and supplied to the patient via a flexible venous line having a venous puncture cannula. The monitoring device 20 has a line guide 21 for loosely guiding a line segment 7A of the flexible line 7. The invention is based on detecting a change in situation of the loosely guided line segment 7A due to tension applied if the puncture cannula slips out, it being concluded that incorrect vessel access is occurring if the situation of the line segment changes. Since only changes in situation are monitored, even slight applied tensions are already sufficient for reliably detecting incorrect vessel access.
