Abstract: Internal combustion engine with fuel injection directly into the combustion chamber of the engine. The engine has inlet channels, the angle of incidence (valve angle) (&agr;) of which is greater than 20° relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder chamber. The piston tops are made, firstly, with a surface portion inclined relative to a plane normal to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder chamber by an angle (&ggr;) equal to or less than the angle of incidence of the inlet channel, and, secondly, with a cavity connected to the inclined surface portion. By interaction between the angle of incidence of the inlet channels and the shape of the piston tops, there is generated in the combustion chambers a primary vortical movement in the inlet air about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder chamber. The primary vortical movement generates a secondary vortical movement in the opposite direction in the piston cavity.

Abstract: A modular spinning reel is made with a modular gearbox that includes a one piece gearbox shell that encloses a drive gear within. The modular gearbox permits components subject to wear and damage to be readily replaced without disassembling the precision gears while also providing a drive component that can be manufactured in quantity with high precision.

Abstract: A dragging device in a fishing reel of the fixed-spool type having a housing accommodating a spool shaft rotatably mounted therein. A line spool is non-rotatably mounted on the end of the spool shaft projecting from the reel housing. The reel also comprises a transmission for transforming the movement of a handle into a movement of rotation of a member for winding up the fishing line on the line spool. The dragging device consists of a bait drag which is adapted, when fishing with a live bait, to adjustably brake the line spool for conforming to the size of the live bait. The dragging device is arranged for directly or indirectly acting on the spool shaft and for being engaged or disengaged by an outer slide and drag control disposed on the reel housing.

Abstract: The present invention relates to fishing reels of the type having a crank-operated rotor supporting a bail pivotable thereon between a position for winding up the fishing line on the line spool and an open position for permitting the fishing line to run out from the spool which is now rotating during casting, the bail being pivotable manually by finger operation of an operating arm pivotably supported on the rotor and connected to the bail for pivoting the latter from its line winding position into the open position thereof for casting.
