Abstract: Systems and methods for calculating a patent claim scope rating are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a method of calculating a patent claim scope rating includes identifying patent references cited in examination of a subject patent and storing the identified patent references as an applied art list, identifying first backward references for the patent references in the applied art list and storing the first backward references as a first backward list, identifying second backward references for the first backward references in the first backward list and storing the second backward references as a second backward list, identifying forward references for the patent references in the applied art list and storing the forward references as a forward list. A patent claim scope rating is based on a calculation including at least a partial combination listing of the applied art list, the first and second backward lists, and the forward list.

Abstract: Systems and methods for patent portfolio management are described. In some example embodiments, a web site of the patent owner is identified, based on a name of a patent owner. The web site includes content presented in one or more pages. The content of the web site of the patent owner is accessed. Also, patent data that pertains to a patent asset of the patent owner is accessed. The patent data includes a description of the patent asset. The content of the web site and the description of the patent asset are compared. One or more keywords present both in the content of the web site and in the description of the patent asset are identified. A page of the one or more pages where the one or more keywords are present is identified. The page of the one or more pages of the web site is correlated to the patent asset based on the one or more keywords.

Abstract: Systems and method for patent portfolio management are described. In some example embodiments, a patent matter database that includes data pertaining to a patent matter is maintained. The data includes a docket activity description for a docket activity pertaining to the patent matter and a docket date that indicates a due date for the docket activity. An analysis on the data is performed based on applying a docketing rule to the data. The docketing rule specifies a condition when the docket date is a critical date. A determination is made that the docket date is the critical date based on the condition being satisfied in the data. The data is tagged to indicate that the docket date is the critical date.

Abstract: Systems, methods and interfaces for patent portfolio management are proposed. In one example embodiment, a system comprises at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to assign a first, arbitrary patent value unit to any issued patent in the portfolio that has not been cited forward against another patent or application, assign a second, arbitrary patent value unit to any issued patent in the portfolio that has been cited forward against another patent or application, and sum the first and second arbitrary patent values units to derive the aggregate value of the patent portfolio.

Abstract: A system and computer implemented method of patent mapping are provided. The method comprises maintaining a database of patent portfolios and a database of patents, each patent stored in the database of patents associated with one or more patent portfolios stored in the database of patent portfolios; maintaining a database of ontologies, the ontologies including one or more patent concepts in defined groups; receiving a search query associated with a first patent portfolio; searching the first portfolio as a function of the search query; generating search results, the search results including one or more patent claims associated with the search query; and mapping the one or more patent claims to a patent concept in a defined group.

Abstract: A system and method for patent mapping are provided.
