  • Publication number: 20070276346
Abstract: An ostomy bag with a filter assembly having a gas filter and a pre-filter for preventing or delaying solid/semisolid matter and liquid from reaching the gas filter. The pre-filter is at least substantially flat and comprises a number of constrictions, such as ribs extending along and between two inner surface parts of the channel. These constrictions/ribs form narrower and wider passages where the gas may more quickly pass a narrow passage and where the wider passages tend to receive and hold the liquid, solid matter and semisolid matter. The constrictions may be provided as a single, monolithic element, such as an extruded element.

  • Publication number: 20050085779
Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprising a front wall and a rear wall of flexible material forming a bag, the rear wall having an opening into the bag by which waste material can enter the bag, said bag having two or more vents through which gas may escape from the bag and having a filter device covering each vent, said filter device being provided with gas inlet and outlet openings in communication with at least one filter body, the arrangement being so that in use gas flows through the filter device from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, such gas flow being confined to said filter body, wherein the ostomy appliance is provided with at least two independent filter devices having separate inlet openings communicating with the inner space of the bag and wherein the inlet openings of the filter devices are located near the border of the bag shows improved resistance against blocking of the inlet opening of filter.

  • Patent number: 6728514
Abstract: Wireless broadband data access is provided to and from a plurality of locations distributed randomly over a large geographic area. The network can be deployed one node at a time, with a new node incorporated into the network if within radio frequency range of any existing node in the network. The newly incorporated node can then be the attaching point for another new node that requires incorporation into the network. Data can be forwarded over multiple hops to reach its destination in the network, with the data-polling scheme self-synchronizing with minimal transmission overhead.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 27, 2004
