  • Patent number: 10343666
Abstract: A method of actuating a parking brake for a vehicle having an electromechanical brake device in a situation whereat driving dynamics state information is not available in the vehicle and whereat a driver operates the parking brake includes producing an electromechanical braking force with a magnitude that is less than a maximum braking force of the parking brake.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 14, 2016
Date of Patent: July 9, 2019
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Edith Mannherz, Frank Baehrle-Miller, Lars Roters, Matthieu Weinum, Ullrich Sussek
  • Patent number: 10023165
Abstract: A method for operating a brake system of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, including at least one wheel brake having a displaceable brake piston and an electric motor first actuator of a parking brake and a hydraulic second actuator of an operating brake for displacing the brake piston in each case. For operating the parking brake, the electric motor first actuator is activated in order to set a specifiable target clamping force of the wheel brake. If the maximum clamping force that is achievable by the electric motor first actuator is lower than the target clamping force, then the hydraulic second actuator is activated to provide an additional clamping force.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 30, 2016
Date of Patent: July 17, 2018
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Frank Baehrle-Miller, Lars Roters, Ulrike Schaefer
  • Patent number: 9878696
Abstract: In a method for actuating a parking brake in a vehicle, a clamping force is generated by an electromechanical braking device comprising a brake motor. The motor voltage of the brake motor is determined on the basis of the control-unit input voltage of a closed-loop or open-loop control unit.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH

  • Patent number: 8938347
Abstract: In a method for adjusting the clamping force exerted by a parking brake, which force is applied by an electric-motor braking apparatus and by a hydraulic braking apparatus, the hydraulic inlet pressure generated by the driver and existing in the hydraulic braking apparatus is utilized to generate a hydraulic clamping force; and for the case in which the hydraulic clamping force is not sufficient to reach a target clamping force, an electric clamping force is generated in supplementary fashion.
