  • Publication number: 20060201756
Abstract: A disc brake with self-servo effect comprises: a movable ramp plate connected to a brake pad for engagement with a brake disc, a ramp bridge, stationary in relation to the ramp plate, rollers movable in ramps in surfaces facing each other of the ramp plate and the ramp bridge, and means for imparting a control movement on the ramp plate. The arrangement is such that a movement of the ramp plate in the tangential direction of the brake disc will cause it to move towards or away from the brake disc. Slack adjusting means for compensating for the wear of the brake pad are arranged between the ramp plate and the brake pad.

  • Publication number: 20060163011
Abstract: The present invention relates to a disc brake having a housing, a clamping device, a push rod, and a self-activating adjustment device, whereby the adjustment device includes a first subassembly and a second subassembly. According to the invention the adjustment device includes an assembling joint, which makes possible the transmission of a rotary motion from the first subassembly to the second subassembly, whereby the assembling joint allows an axial relative motion between the first subassembly and the second subassembly, whereby the assembling joint permits an axial relative motion between the first subassembly and the second subassembly of the adjustment device. According to a particular embodiment of the invention, a misalignment of the push rod inside a place, which lies parallel to the brake disc, can occur with respect to the housing, without resulting in jamming of the cylindrical element with respect to the push rod and housing.

  • Publication number: 20050211509
Abstract: The invention relates to a disk brake provided with a brake caliper comprising a brake disk, a sliding member which can be displaced in a vertical manner in relation to the surface of the brake disk in the brake caliper and can be engaged against the brake disk, and a clamping device comprising a rotary lever and a rotational body. In one embodiment of the invention, the rotary lever comprises a domed-shaped control surface whereon the rotational body is arranged in a rotational contact position. By pivoting said rotary lever in a radial segment bearing, the rotational body and the rotary lever modify their position, in relation to each other, such that the sliding member is displaced in order to apply braking force. The rotational body then carries out a full rotational movement on the control surface.

  • Patent number: 6889801
Abstract: A transmission brake is arranged in connection with an electric motor for an electric brake. The transmission brake shall allow rotation of the motor shaft in a brake applying direction, but when motor current is no longer supplied, the shaft shall be locked. Rotation of the shaft in the brake release direction pre-supposes reverse rotation of the motor. A clutch is arranged between the shaft and a non-rotational housing. For accomplishing an engagement of the clutch at a rotation of the shaft but not the motor in the brake release direction there is a ramp.

  • Patent number: 6851533
Abstract: A spring brake actuator is mounted with its shaft connected to the rotational operative shaft of a service brake actuator. The spring brake actuator has a clock spring, which is mechanically charged at a rotation of the actuator shaft in a brake release direction. It also has an electric coil for keeping when electrically energized—the clock spring in its charged condition. Further, it has means for transferring the rotative energy of the clock spring to the actuator shaft in a brake applying direction, when the coil is energized, but allowing free rotation of the shaft in either direction, when the coil is energized.
