  • Publication number: 20140044994
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for visualization of non-visible information on a packaging material to provide traceability. The method comprises the steps of: reading the non-visible information from the packaging material by means of a magnetic head reader, processing the non-visible information in a central processing unit together with additional new non-visible information, and printing an optional portion of the amount of combined non-visible information onto the packaging material as a traceability marking. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method and a packaging line with a filling machine making use of the device.

  • Patent number: 7604773
Abstract: Method of sterilising a packaging material (1) by means of a sterilising agent in liquid form, comprising the steps of: providing a packaging material (1) to be sterilised, providing a source (11) of sterilising agent in liquid form, forcing the liquid sterilising agent through a nozzle (12) to form a jet (14a) directed towards the packaging material, subjecting the jet (14a) of liquid sterilising agent to a controlled, periodic disturbance causing the jet (14a) of liquid sterilising agent to form a train (14) of droplets of controlled, essentially uniform size and controlled rate, moving the packaging material (1) in relation to said nozzle (12) or vice versa, whereby said train (14) of droplets forms a coating (2) of sterilising agent of controlled thickness and controlled coverage on the packaging material (1), and vaporising the film of sterilising agent on the packaging material (1). The invention also concerns a similar method and devices for implementing said methods.

  • Publication number: 20040170781
Abstract: A packaging laminate (10) for a retortable packaging container of the type which is produced by fold forming and thermosealing of a web or a prefabricated blank of the packaging laminate. The packaging laminate (10) includes a base layer (11) of paper or paperboard which has been rendered hydrophobic by stock sizing. The base layer (11) is preferably rendered hydrophobic by stock sizing by means of an aqueous dispersion or emulsion of an alkyl ketene dimer or mixture of alkyl ketene dimers with a different number of carbon atoms in their respective fat tails. Most preferably, the base layer (11) is rendered hydrophobic by stock sizing by means of an aqueous dispersion or emulsion of an alkyl ketene dimer containing 18 carbon atoms in its fat tail. The quantity of alkyl ketene dimers is suitably at least approx. 0.25 weight %, preferably 0.25-0.4 weight %, most preferably approx. 0.4 weight %, calculated on the dry weight of the base layer (11).
