Publication number: 20240238529Abstract: An injector includes a housing having a syringe assembly and an actuating mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel that stores a medicament to be injected into a user, a needle assembly, and a filter member disposed adjacent to the needle assembly. The actuating mechanism is operatively coupled to the syringe assembly and includes a torque spring that exerts a torque to urge the medicament through the filter member to be injected into the user. The actuating mechanism further includes a damper mechanism that exerts an opposing force to dampen the motion exerted by the torque spring.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2024Publication date: July 18, 2024Applicant: AMGEN INC.Inventors: Adam B. McCullough, Ronald Forster, Joseph Michael Iglesias, Matias Melander, Rasmus Øhlenschlæger, Christian Plambech, Lars Stenholt, Bjarke Lykke Ludvig Svendsen

Patent number: 9095660Abstract: A disposable double pointed injection needle has a needle hub to which a thin needle cannula is permanently fastened and which needle hub can be mounted on to a syringe comprising a dose setting and injection mechanism and a cartridge containing a liquid medicine to be injected subcutaneously into a human body. The needle hub is provided with a safety shield guided on the needle hub. The safety shield is urged in a direction away from the needle hub by a spring located between the needle hub and the safety shield. After injection the shield is moved away from the needle hub by the spring and locked in an irreversible position where the safety shield covers the needle cannula and prevents accidental needle stick injuries.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2011Date of Patent: August 4, 2015Assignee: Novo Nordisk A/SInventors: Carsten Gerner Larsen, Lars Stenholt, Anders Molin, Jorn Rex, Bjorn Gullak Larsen

Patent number: 8075522Abstract: A disposable double pointed injection needle has a needle hub to which a thin needle cannula is permanently fasten and which needle hub can be mounted on to a syringe comprising a dose setting and injection mechanism and a cartridge containing a liquid medicine to be injected subcutaneously into a human body. The needle hub is provided with a safety shield guided on the outside surface of the needle hub. The safety shield is urged in a direction away from the needle hub by a spring located between the needle hub and the safety shield. The safety shield has a number of protrusions guided in guiding tracks on the outside surface of the needle hub. The guiding tracks are designed such that the safety shield during injection is moved towards the needle hub, and after injection is moved away from the needle hub by the spring and locked in an irreversible position where the safety shield covers the needle cannula and prevents accidental needle stick injuries.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Novo Nordisk A/SInventors: Carsten Gerner Larsen, Lars Stenholt, Anders Molin, Jørn Rex, Bjørn Gullak Larsen

Publication number: 20030015444Abstract: A needle magazine for storing and selectively dispensing a plurality of needle assemblies is comprised of a modules that are located adjacent each other and connected together side-by-side. The modules may be box shaped and provided on one side surface with a pin. A side opposite the side surface having the pin has a pin-receiving hole in which the pin of an adjacent module is secured. This allows an individual user to customize the capacity of the magazine based on the user's individual needs by joining as many or as few modules as needed. In some embodiments, a peg is used to secure the modules together. Each module may have a channel that accommodates the peg, thereby allowing a user to arrange the modules side-by-side and secure them with the peg.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2002Publication date: January 23, 2003Inventors: Anders Molin, Henning Jakobsen, Lars Stenholt
