Abstract: Arrangement for fastening a roll unit carrier (2) firmly to roll stand. The roll stand comprises a fastening device (15) which is journalled eccentrically in a rotatable cylindrical member (14) and has one end (16) provided with a fastening surface (16a) which in the fastening mode of the arrangement coacts with a complementary surface on the carrier (2). The arrangement includes elements (17, 18) for rotating the cylindrical member between a fastening position in which the carrier is pressed against the roll stand at a predetermined force, and a release position in which the carrier can be moved towards or away from the roll stand without being impeded by the fastening device.

Abstract: A roll-pair has synchronously driven shafts and a drive arrangement. The drive arrangement comprises an alternating current motor (12) and a planetary gear mechanism (13). The alternating current motor (12) and the planetary gear mechanism (13) are disposed in side-by-side relationship, the alternating current motor (12) having an output shaft and the planetary gear mechanism (13) having an input shaft. A transmission (14) connects the output shaft and the input shaft. The roll-pair and alternating current motor (12) and planetary gear mechanism (13) are all disposed on the same side of the transmission (14). The transmission (14) is a gear transmission. The input and output shafts are parallel to each other.
