The protective device further comprises a connecting part provided with two branch parts to be arranged at the end of the channel part, the ends of the branch parts being arranged to be connected to air supply means arranged in the mask part covering the wearer's mouth and nose.

Abstract: A protective device comprising a mask part, which covers the wearer's mouth and nose and is provided with elements through which air can be supplied inside the mask part to enable breathing. To eliminate problems caused by draught, the mask part is provided with a wall portion, which is arranged to extend from the edge portion of the mask part against the wearer's face inside the mask part so that an interspace connected to the inner space of the mask part is formed between the wall portion and the inner surface of the mask part and that the elements through which air for breathing can be supplied inside the mask part are arranged to open into the interspace.

The valve means is formed of a plate-like element that is made of flexible material, covers the opening and is connected to the outer surface of the mask part. The plate-like element is provided with through cuts that are arranged to provide, by the effect of exhalation flow, flap parts that turn outwardly from the mask part. The flap parts are arranged to return, after exhalation, back to a position in which the flap parts press in a sealable manner against one another at the cuts.
