  • Patent number: 4869460
Abstract: An actuating device for pipe-chamber feeders of hydraulic transport equipments comprising valves or other closing appliances having a closing element that is movable reciprocally between an open and a closed position, the improvement being characterized in said closing element being associated with at least one speed control means, especially a speed reducing means acting at least at the end phase of the closing stroke of said closing element. The speed reducing effect of at least one of said speed control means may be adjustable.

  • Patent number: 4865492
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating device for pipe-chamber feeders of hydraulic transport equipment, the latter having main closing appliances, auxiliary closing appliances and a high-pressure pump. The novel feature is that a dashpot or other pressure storing unit is installed in a pressure equalizer pipe interconnecting the high-pressure pure-water pipe of the pump with the auxiliary closing appliances and in the dashpot the carrier liquid is in direct or indirect contact with a gas or air cushion.

  • Patent number: 4088579
Abstract: Slurry to be densified by removal of water is passed into an inlet of a housing, through the housing, and out an outlet. Inside the housing are a plurality of elongated hollow filter elements, which extend in the direction of flow of the slurry. Water in the slurry passes through the walls of and into the interiors of the hollow filter elements, as the slurry flows along the lengths of the filter elements. The cross-sectional area of the flow space for the slurry, defined between the exterior surfaces of the filter elements and the interior wall of the housing, decreases as one proceeds along the lengths of the filter elements. As a result, the flow speed of the slurry does not decrease proceeding in the flow direction, but instead is maintained at least substantially constant, or is even caused to increase (accelerating flow).

  • Patent number: 4082367
Abstract: The equipment according to the present invention renders possible the continuous charge and similarly, continuous discharge in the case of two-chamber feeders considerably shorter than the original chambers, respectively, and by their operation according to a cyclic order deviating from the usual one. More precisely, the set aim is achieved according to the invention in such a way that to the pipe chambers, intermediate chambers are connected which can be connected to the pipe chamber or to the clear water basin, or to one of the two pumps (charging pump and high-pressure pump) by means of corresponding locking means.
