They can be represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group and n when R represents a hydroxyl group is zero or one of the integers 1, 2 or 3, or when R represents a hydrogen atom is one of the integers 1, 2 or 3.They form useful substitutes for serotonin, in all treatments of afflictions which call into play an excessive metabolization of serotonin.
