Patent number: 11517773Abstract: An apparatus for operating on tissue includes a body, a shaft assembly, and an end effector. The shaft assembly extends distally from the body and includes an acoustic waveguide. The waveguide is configured to acoustically couple with an ultrasonic transducer. The end effector includes an ultrasonic blade, a clamp arm, and a clamp pad. The blade is in acoustic communication with the waveguide. The clamp arm is configured to pivot about a first pivot point toward and away from the ultrasonic blade and includes a coupling feature. The clamp pad is selectively attachable to the blade to acoustically isolate the clamp arm from the ultrasonic blade. The coupling feature of the clamp arm is configured to provide a snap fit between the clamp pad and the clamp arm and thereby permit manipulation of the clamp pad for removal of the clamp pad from the clamp arm.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2019Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Cilag GmbH InternationalInventors: Benjamin D. Patent number: 9162820Abstract: A conveyor device includes a conveyor belt with a surface oriented towards the outer face of the conveyor belt. The surface has a plurality of microstructures with protruding regions such that an object adheres to the surface when the object comes into contact with the surface on the basis of the resulting van der Waals forces.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2013Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Markus Hanisch, Laura Boehm

Publication number: 20130053861Abstract: A device is used for deploying a prosthesis to vessel portions of a body vessel. The device can include a retaining member and a sheath. The retaining member, such as clamps, is movable between closed and open positions. In the closed position, the retaining member compresses an intermediate segment of the prosthesis. In the open position, the retaining member is positioned away from the prosthesis to allow for expansion of the intermediate segment. The sheath compresses an outer segment of the prosthesis, where the outer segment is associated with a first or second outer end of the prosthesis. The sheath is removable from the outer segment to allow for expansion thereof when the retaining member is in the closed position. An actuation member is operable to move the retaining member between the closed and open positions. Clamps are pivotable in response to movement of the actuation member.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2011Publication date: February 28, 2013Applicant: Cook Medical Technologies LLCInventors: Donald F. Patterson, Laura A. Boehm, Morgan K. T. Humphrey, Jeremy E. Phillips, Sally A. Zimmerman, Amro Kamel

Publication number: 20130041451Abstract: A deployment system for open surgical repair of a body vessel is provided. The system includes a prosthesis retained in a compressed configuration by a retainer sheath. A splitting member can include a portion disposed internally within the retainer sheath and a portion accessible from at least one of the outer ends of the retainer sheath. Retraction of the accessible portion toward a middle of the prosthesis can split the wall of the retainer sheath to allow for expansion of a segment of the prosthesis for engagement with a first portion of the body vessel. Another segment of the prosthesis is expanded for engagement with a second portion in order for the prosthesis to interconnect the first and second portions of the body vessel. A barrier segment may be disposed within the retainer sheath between the splitting member and the prosthesis.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2011Publication date: February 14, 2013Applicant: Cook Medical Technologies LLCInventors: Donald F. Patterson, Laura A. Boehm, Morgan K. T. Humphrey, Jeremy E. Phillips, Sally A. Zimmerman
