Drug resistance is especially to sulfonamides, or to trimethoprim or methotrexate by a gene derived from plasmid R388. A vector capable of conferring resistance to methotrexate or sulfonamide on P.chrysogenum, comprises at least one said resistance gene under the control of trpC controlling sequences.
