Abstract: A method and system for automated creation of collages from a video sequence is provided. The system and method dynamically extracts key frames from a video sequence, which are used to create the collages shown on a display. By changing the position of cursors, a new set of key frames is extracted and the content of the collage will change correspondingly reflecting the changes in the key frames selection. The method also includes user interface elements to allow a user to change the layout design (e.g., rotate, overlap, white space, image scaling) of the video frames on the collage. In addition, the method includes different ways for browsing the video sequence by using automatically detected semantic concepts in various frames as indexing points. Further, the method includes defining swiping attributes based on motion characteristics (e.g., zoom/pan, motion of object), audio activity, or facial expression for browsing the video sequence.

The computer system controls the display and includes a processing system capable of modifying the captured digital image to illustrate the person using a product. The system can be disposed in a storefront window for viewing by persons in a public space and the camera is disposed to capture an image of the person in the public space.

Abstract: A computer implemented method of generating an image display. A database stores images of products to be sold by a merchant and templates for organizing a display of the images. The templates each have attributes matching a particular product inventory and images of particular products can be disposed in preselected and predesigned locations in the template. When an inventory of products offered for sale by the merchant changes or is updated, then the template attributes can be changed to reflect the current inventory. The current product images can then be displayed within a template on at least one electronic display.

A computer system comprising stored digital templates for said image display can be operated by a user to generate the image display. The templates each have a plurality of digital openings for displaying digital images and each of those openings has a required image attribute. Abstract: A computer implemented method for automatically generating an artist coordinated image display based upon a user's favorite image or images. A plurality of digital image templates are stored in a computer accessible memory each having programmed characteristics associated therewith that are designed by an artist with one window being a primary window. The characteristics of the template can be programmed and stored, including number, location, shape, color, etc, of windows in the digital template. Color and texture characteristics of a body of the template can be selected to resemble, for example, a frame, which will eventually hold the printed images of the template for display. The windows of the template have stored image attribute requirements associated therewith that are designed by the artist are correlated to match image attributes of at least one user selected image.
