Publication number: 20230330868Abstract: A robotic end-tool including a divider restraining mechanism that utilizes a movable foot structure to restrain divider inserts during the automated extraction of objects from a box using a robot mechanism. The end-tool includes a frame connected to the robotic mechanism and an object gripping device (e.g., a suction cup) connected to the frame. The foot structure is connected to one end of a guide rod that is restricted to move in an axial direction by a linear bearing that is attached to the frame. Before each automated extraction the robot mechanism manipulates the frame to position the object gripping device mechanism over a targeted object. During each extraction operation the foot structure applies and maintains a restraining force on the divider insert while object gripping device is manipulated by the robot mechanism to secure and then extract the selected object out of its associated storage compartment.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2022Publication date: October 19, 2023Applicant: RIOS Intelligent Machines, Inc.Inventors: Laura Sullivan, Kent A. Patent number: 11505833Abstract: Novel gene deletions and translocations involving chromosome 2 resulting in fusion proteins combining part of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) kinase with part of a secondary protein have been identified herein in human solid tumors, e.g. non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Secondary proteins include Echinoderm Microtubule-Associated Protein-Like 4 (EML-4) and TRK-Fusion Gene (TFG). The EML4-ALK fusion protein, which retains ALK tyrosine kinase activity, was confirmed to drive the proliferation and survival of NSCLC characterized by this mutation. The invention therefore provides, in part, isolated polynucleotides and vectors encoding the disclosed mutant ALK kinase polypeptides, probes for detecting it, isolated mutant polypeptides, recombinant polypeptides, and reagents for detecting the fusion and truncated polypeptides.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2020Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: CELL SIGNALING TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventors: Klarisa Rikova, Herbert Haack, Laura Sullivan, Ailan Guo, Anthony Possemato, Joan MacNeill, Ting-Lei Gu, Jian Yu

Patent number: 9664686Abstract: An imaging system (10) and associated method for detection of protein contamination on a surgical instrument (100) that has been treated with a fluorescing stain, wherein fluorophors in the stain are capable of emitting light of an emitted type when both excited by light of an excitation type and in contact with a protein are provided. The system comprises a light tight chamber (14) for receiving the instrument (100). Inside the chamber (14) are both visible light sources (20) and excitation light sources (22) for respectively illuminating the chamber with visible and excitation type light. A digital camera (30) is able to capture a first image of the instrument (100) as illuminated by the visible light, and a second image, of patterns of fluorescence produced by the fluorophors in the stain corresponding to protein contamination. The first and second images are combined to produce a composite image of the instrument (100) highlighting the areas of protein contamination.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2011Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: Synoptics LimitedInventors: David Perrett, Nanda Kishore Nayuni, Paul Ellwood, Richard Maskell, Alasdair Hayden Wright, Sarah Thompson, Laura Sullivan
