Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical article comprising at least one absorbing dye A that selectively and at least partially blocks transmission of light having a wavelength ranging from 400 to 500 nm, wherein dye A has an absorption peak in the range from 400 nm to 460 nm and the absorption spectrum of the optical article is such that the contribution to absorption in the range 400-435 nm is higher than in the range 435-460 nm. This optical article can be used to protect the eyes of a user from photo toxic blue light.
