The messenger module can output the messenger application GUI with a visual cue graphical element representative of the visual cue to provide a visual indication of the contact or the group of contacts on the display to the user based on the visual cue data.     Abstract: In a video signal processing system, a single adaptive passband equalizer is used to process a composite Quadrature Amplitude Modulated (QAM) signal encoded with high priority (HP) and standard priority (SP) components. The equalizer output is phase corrected by a de-rotator, and filtered to separate the HP and SP components. Error signals respectively representing HP and SP phase errors are developed. One of the error signals controls the operation of the de-rotator. Both error signals are used to generate updated coefficients for the adaptive equalizer. Afterwards the HP and SP components are decoded and combined.

The high priority and standard priority QAM signals are combined in digital form to produce a prioritized dual 32-QAM digital signal before being conveyed to a single analog-to-digital converter and analog RF transmission networks.

    Abstract: Circuitry for forming the twos complement or ones complement of M-bit binary numbers is described. The circuitry includes M stages each of which contains an exclusive NOR gate. A first input terminal of the exclusive NOR gate is coupled to receive one bit of the input value and a second input terminal is coupled to receive the carry output signal from the previous stage. A logic one or logic zero is applied to the second input terminal of the stage which processes the least significant bit of the binary word if the circuitry is to provide a twos complement or ones complement value respectively. The carry output signal for each stage is generated by ANDing a logically inverted version of the input bit signal with the carry input signal applied to the stage. An application of the complementing circuitry in an absolute value circuit is also described.

    Abstract: A sampled data FIR filter of the type including alternately connected ADDER circuits and delay stages in a serial chain where input samples are multiplied by coefficients and applied in parallel to the ADDER circuits for addition to partial sums therein has respective COUNTER circuits coupled to each ADDER circuit to respond to sum overflows. The COUNTER circuits are serially connected one to another by delay stages. The overflow count corresponding to each signal sample is translated to successive counter in consonance with such partial sum being translated from ADDER circuit to ADDER circuit. The last COUNTER circuit contains the net number of overflows corresponding to the output sum, which overflow signal is indicative of the state of correctness of the output sample.

    Abstract: A circuit for incrementing or decrementing a binary number is described. An M bit binary number is applied to M dynamic latch circuits. The latch output signals are applied to M logic units each comprising an exclusive OR, an exclusive NOR and one transistor. The transistors of the respective logic units are connected serially, with the transistor of the logic unit operating on the LSB of the binary number being further connected to a carry in or count signal. The exclusive OR is responsive to the carry in signal and the latched signal to increment/decrement or pass through the respective bit of the binary number. The exclusive NOR is responsive to an Up/Down signal and the latched signal for controlling the conduction state of the respective transistor thereby providing a carry in signal to the input of the next adjacent logic unit operating on the next more significant bit of the binary number.
