Abstract: A method of tracking attendance of an event includes detecting a presence of at least one mobile attendee device. The mobile attendee device includes personal identification information stored therein for an attendee associated therewith who is registered for the event. An ad hoc wireless data connection is established with the mobile attendee device responsive to detection thereof. An identification request is transmitted to the mobile attendee device via the ad hoc wireless data connection, and the personal identification information for the attendee is received from the mobile attendee device via the ad hoc wireless data connection. The received identification information is displayed on an administrator device. Related systems, devices, and computer program products are also discussed.

The plurality of portable student terminals may be respectively associated with ones of the plurality of students who are registered for an academic course associated with the educational content. An ad hoc wireless data connection may also be selectively established with at least one of the plurality of portable student terminals in the classroom. According to various embodiments described herein, an authorization device is provided that includes functionality for detecting other proximately located authorization devices. When an authorization device detects another proximately located authorization device, authorization data stored in the detected device is retrieved. The retrieved authorization data is compared to stored authorization data and a determination is made as to whether a person associated with the detected device is authorized to receive information. The authorization device provides an indication as to whether the person is authorized to receive information. The authorization device may also provide an indication of the particular information that the person is authorized to receive.

A determination is made based on the session requirements and the timing information whether the group of sessions is capable of being implemented. If the group of sessions is capable of being implemented, then a session schedule is provided. If the group of sessions is not capable of being implemented, then a notification that the group of sessions is not capable of being implemented is provided.
