  • Publication number: 20150082255
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for displaying notification information are disclosed. A computing device that is showing a breathing view on its touch screen display, detects a peek request event, such as a press and hold on the display. If the user then swipes one direction (e.g., up to a notification target), the computing device launches the notification intent (e.g., the full text message in the text messaging application). However, if the user swipes another direction (e.g., down to a plurality of notification icons), the computing device displays a notification curtain (e.g., a list of various notifications and links to each associated application).

  • Publication number: 20120271822
Abstract: A system is implemented on a mobile communication device for establishing preferred contacts for a central user of the mobile communication device. The system comprises a data collection device that captures the central user's interaction with other users on a network according to frequency during situational factors; and a query apparatus that inquires, for current situational factors, which contacts are preferred that the central user will communicate with based on central user's past interactions during same situational factors that correspond only to the central user. A list is provided to the central user of one or more of the preferred contacts that the central user selects from; and an application launcher is communicatively coupled to the list for display of the list of preferred contacts that are also functionally related to the application launcher.

  • Publication number: 20110282826
Abstract: An electronic device, like a wireless communication device, includes a controller coupled to an interface, wherein the controller is configured to recommend a location or destination based on information about a user of the communication device and based on general destination information. In other embodiments, other recommendations may also be made, for example, a recommended time for traveling to the recommended destination or destination-related resources.

  • Publication number: 20110283218
Abstract: A communication device including a controller coupled to a user interface wherein the controller is configured to recommend an event and a proposed time at which the event occurs based on tentative time and participant information provided to, or obtained by, the communication device. The participant information identifies an individual with which a user of the communication device may participate in the event. The recommended event and proposed time is communicated to the participants.

  • Publication number: 20090209286
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for gathering social information that is of interest to a user of a communications device. Information is gathered both from the device itself (e.g., call logs) and remotely (e.g., from social-networking web sites). The gathered information is then intelligently aggregated and presented to the user in a unified format. In many cases, each piece of social information is associated with at least one virtual identity. Some embodiments rationalize the display of social information by using a contact-identity database that associates a contact person with his multiple virtual identities. In some embodiments, the user can specify how the information is to be displayed and can specify ways to filter the information. For example, the user can specify which contact people are of interest and can filter their social information based on the type of the information and the time at which the information was posted.
