Abstract: Nasal cannula assemblies for providing respiratory therapy to patients are provided. A nasal cannula assembly can include a cannula, an optional manifold which may be removable, a gas supply tube, and a securement mechanism. Securement mechanisms can include headgear straps, cheek pads, or an adhesive nose strip. A nasal cannula assembly can also include a lanyard, lanyard clip, and/or lanyard connector to help support the weight of a main gas delivery conduit.

Abstract: This invention relates to a clamping device and more particularly to a clamping device which can be attached to articles such as patio chairs to mount a holder for umbrellas and the like in a variety of positions. The device comprises a main body including a barrel and a first clamping arm extending laterally in one direction from one end of said barrel, a second clamping arm pivotally mounted at the other end of said barrel and adapted to cooperate with the first clamping arm to engage an article upon which the clamping device is to be mounted, a holder extending laterally from said one end of said barrel in a direction other than said one direction, means for mounting said holder on said barrel to provide a position permitting pivotal movement and a position in which the holder is locked, spring means within the barrel acting to bias the mounting means to a locked position while permitting movement of the mounting means to the position permitting pivotal movement.

Abstract: Sources and methods for radiation therapy, particularly brachytherapy, employing americium-241 radioisotope. The physical properties of americium-241 (60 keV gamma emission and 433 year half-life) provide major advantages for radiotherapy, including simplified radiation protection, dose reduction to healthy tissue, increased dose to tumor, and improved dose distributions. A number of apparent drawbacks and unfavorable considerations including low gamma factor, high self-absorption, increased activity required and alpha-particle generation leading to helium gas pressure buildup and potential neutron contamination in the generated radiation are all effectively dealt with and overcome through recognition of subtle favorable factors unique to americium-241 among brachytherapy sources and through suitable constructional techniques.
