  • Publication number: 20040255566
Abstract: Apparatus for conditioning plant material in the production of hay. The apparatus comprises a conditioning part (12) through which plant material can be passed to be subjected to compression for fracturing the stalks thereof. The conditioning path (12) has an intake end (21) and a discharge end (23). The conditioning path (12) is defined between two compression surfaces (26, 28), one of which is defined by an endless beam (25) moveable through a cyclic path about rollers (31, 32). The rollers (31, 32) are mounted on a common support (33). The compression surfaces (26, 28) are arranged for movement with respect to each other for varying the size of the intake end (21) relative to the discharge end (23). Typically, the common support (33) for the rollers (31, 32) comprises a beam (33) which is angularly moveable, and wherein control means (43) are provided for controlling angular movement of the beam (33).

  • Patent number: 6280615
Abstract: A fluid mixer includes an elongate mixing chamber having an inlet system at one end for admission of liquid and gas to be intimately mixed by passage through the chamber and an outlet for the mixture at the opposite end, wherein opposed longitudinal sides of the chamber are each defined by a surface of scallop shape having peaks and troughs, with the peaks of the two surfaces being relatively offset so as to cause the liquid and gas entering the chamber to flow along a generally sinuous path through the chamber to create a turbulent flow which promotes intimate mixing. Advantageously a UV source extends within the chamber to sterilize the liquid flowing through the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5794712
Abstract: A mobile frame (10) for supporting an elongate flexible structure (11) such as a ground working tool assembly, the mobile frame (10) is foldable between a first position in which the elongate flexible structure (11) is supported in a working condition in relation to the ground, and a second position in which the elongate flexible structure (11) is supported in a stored condition in relation to the ground. The mobile frame comprises a first frame portion (31) supported for movement over the ground and a second frame portion (32) for supporting one end of the elongate flexible structure. The second frame portion is mounted on the first frame portion for folding movement with respect thereto about a pivot axis inclined to the fore-and-aft axis of the mobile frame such that the spacing between the ends of the elongate flexible structure (11) increases as the elongate flexible structure is moved from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 5033650
Abstract: A multiple barrel device for separate storage of viscous materials and for dispensing and intermixing same through a common static mixing element when pressure is applied. The device includes a multiple barrel syringe and a removable nozzle which is coupled to the syringe to form an interlock and a simultaneous pressure seal. The head of the syringe has a plurality of lugs which form bayonet grooves for engaging a complementary number of tong-like projections extending from the head of the nozzle. The head of the nozzle contains an annular bead which simultaneouly seals the interface at the intercoupling between the head of the syringe and the head of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4995540
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing, in sequence, a unit dosage of several elastomeric impression materials of different viscosities so as to permit a dental impression to be taken under aseptic conditions in the preparation of a dental restoration. The apparatus also includes means for removably locking the syringe to the nozzle assembly.

  • Patent number: 4969747
Abstract: A dispensing mixer unit suited for use with a dispensing gun for mixing and dispensing at least two materials through a common mixing nozzle. The dispensing mixer comprises a tubular shell having at least two compartments for separately storing the materials to be intermixed and a common mixing nozzle, with the shell surrounding the common nixing nozzle in a concentric arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4836969
Abstract: A process for forming a hollow cast structure of cementitious material using a hollow mold having a predetermined surface geometry corresponding to the surface geometry of the structure to be cast. The cementitious material is an admixture of hydraulic cement, water and particles of aggregate containing presized, inorganic filler particles having a maximum size of about 50 microns in a predetermined proportion to the hydraulic cements such that the admixture is substantially nondilatent and thixotropic. The admixture is fed into the hollow mold against the predetermined surface geometry from a feeding device separated a predetermined distance from the mold surface while simultaneously rotating the mold relative to the admixture.

  • Patent number: 4773934
Abstract: A cementatious admixture for use either as a mortar, cement or concrete when added to water comprising a hydraulic cement, such as Portland cement, in combination with presized inorganic filler particles having a maximum particle size of about 50 microns and in a predetermined relationship by weight to the Portland cement. The added water must also satisfy a relationship to the weight of hydraulic cement to provide thixotropy and nondilatency.

  • Patent number: 4753536
Abstract: A portable dispensing mixer for intermixing and dispensing two contiguous streams of material in a preset volumetric ratio. The dispensing mixer includes a syringe with two compartments, discharge assembly for discharging material from the syringe and a nozzle assembly for dispensing the discharged material from a common nozzle. The nozzle assembly comprises a common nozzle, a static mixing element with an arm extending from one end and a head. The head has an end stop for stopping rotation of the arm. The mixing element is caused to rotate by the ingress of material fed through the nozzle until the arm hits the end stop.
