  • Patent number: 6241361
Abstract: A submersible light having an electrically nonconductive reflector and no other electrically conductive elements requiring grounding, a tough lens to withstand impacts from swimmers and features providing quick and easy serviceability. Because of these features, the light of the invention meets safety requirements allowing the light to be mounted less that 18 inches below the waterline, thereby allowing its placement in areas of pools that have been heretofore off limits to conventional lights. In addition, a cord holder about the external surface of the light's housing and twist lock base and housing with a radial O-ring seal provide for quick and easy disassembly and re-installation of the light.

  • Patent number: 5980076
Abstract: An illuminator assembly that has a lid that can be easily removed, a spare bulb holder, a color wheel that easily accepts additional filters without disassembly and a snap on filter for a window on the illuminator assembly. The illuminator assembly illuminates one end of a bundle of fiber optic fibers for a lighting system for a swimming pool or a spa or other area to be illuminated. The illuminator assembly includes a hollow housing containing a light socket assembly for illuminating the end of the bundle of fiber optic fibers. The housing has a first tab mounted adjacent to its open upper end. A light bulb is mounted in the light socket assembly and a lid is provided that is sized to cover the open upper end of the housing. The lid has a second tab configured to selectively engage the first tab on the housing upon the rotation of the lid with respect to the housing.

  • Patent number: 5207499
Abstract: A light assembly combined into a unitary structure with a liquid circulation fitting, such as a water return fitting, for use underwater or above water in a pool, tub, spa, fountain, or similar large liquid container. The combination is well suited for use as a combined underwater light and return water fitting in pools, tubs, or spas, and especially in above-ground pools, and as a combined ornamental light and fountain jet. The unitary structure eliminates the need for more than one hole in the pool wall and thereby simplifies installation and decreases the chance of leaks. The structure provides for both water and air cooling if the light is installed underwater. Furthermore, the structure is connectable to water supply lines of various sizes, and includes a directionally adjustable port to control water returning to the pool or container.
