  • Patent number: 6418264
Abstract: An assembly 10 for use in connecting optical fibers comprising a plurality of housings 12 for housing optical fibre connections. Each housing is pivotally mounted with respect to an associated rigid routing member 14 which has passages for routing fibers to the housing via respective flexible conduit means which extend between the routing member and the housing. Adjacent routing members 14 are push-fittable together such that the housings 12 are in an aligned bank when in stowed positions. Each housing 12 is pivotable from its stowed position out of alignment with the other housings for access.

  • Patent number: 5778131
Abstract: An assembly 10 for use in connecting optical fibers to an optical fiber device having input and output tails includes a plurality of housings 12 for housing optical fiber connections and a housing 18 for housing at least one passive optical device. The tails of the one or more devices are routed through manifold 16 to the housings 12 via respective routing members 14 and the optical fibers to be connected to the tails are routed to the appropriate housings 12 via these routing members 14. The housings 12 are arranged in an aligned bank adjacent the manifold 16 and each housing 12 is moveable out of such alignment for providing access thereto.

  • Patent number: 5740299
Abstract: An assembly 10 for use in connecting optical fibers to an optical fiber device having input and output tails comprises a plurality of housings 12 for housing optical fiber connections. Each housing 12 is typically mounted to, and supported by a respective routeing member 14. The routeing members are rigidly connected one to another such that the housings are arranged in an aligned bank. Each housing is pivotable for providing access thereto from the stowed position out of alignment with the other housings.

  • Patent number: 5640481
Abstract: A system for guiding optical fibres comprises a device which includes a plurality of units, each of which defines a row of ducts extending from a first end of the unit to a second end thereof for guiding optical fibres. The units are arranged successively in overlapping relationship with their first ends in substantial alignment at an end portion of the device and their second ends being spaced apart at successively increasing distances from the device end portion.

  • Patent number: 5550947
Abstract: Apparatus for use in interconnecting optical fibers comprises a shelf 12 slidably mounted between a retracted position (FIG. 2) and an extended position. Housings 48 for locating fiber interconnections are mounted on the shelf 12. A plurality of tubes 22 are connected to respective further tubes 26, which are connected to the housings 48, by tube connector 30. The tubes 22 and 26 guide optical fibers to the housings 48. Each tube 22 has a substantially helical configuration over a portion 24 of its extent located behind the shelf 12 to accommodate sliding movement of the shelf.
