  • Patent number: 8326545
Abstract: A system and method for displaying a pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics drug model for a patient is provided. A monitor is arranged to detect a quantity of anesthetic agent provided to a patient by an anesthesia machine. A display is provided for displaying real-time pharmacokinetics data associated with the quantity of anesthetic agent provided to the patient. Safety control means are provided to initiate the display of real-time pharmacokinetics data for the anesthetic agent only when a predetermined threshold value for the anesthetic agent is detected by the monitor. Alternately, control means are adapted to terminate display of real-time pharmacokinetics data for the anesthetic agent when a predetermined threshold value for the anesthetic agent is detected by the monitor.

  • Publication number: 20100169063
Abstract: A system and method of modeling the pharmacodynamic effect of drugs delivered to a patient. The system includes a model database comprising a first drug interaction model and a second drug interaction model. A processing unit determines a first pharmacodynamic effect and a second pharmacodynamic effect and using a dominance rule to compare the first pharmacodynamic effect and a second pharmacodynamic effect to determine a dominant interaction model. A graphical display connected to the processing unit presents the determined dominant interaction model.

  • Patent number: 7672849
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing voice control of a device, an ultrasound device for example. One embodiment of the present invention comprises an apparatus for providing voice control of the ultrasound device having a plurality of features. The apparatus comprises a memory device adapted to store a plurality of voice commands for controlling the ultrasound device, where the plurality of voice commands has at least two different voice commands that active a single feature of the ultrasound device; a selection module adapted to selecting at least one of the at least two different voice commands; and a translator module adapted to derive a signal from the selected voice command and transmit it to the ultrasound device.

  • Publication number: 20080091084
Abstract: A graphical user interface for use by a clinician in the monitoring of the depth of the anesthesia of a patient. The graphical user interface comprising a drug library with data related to a plurality of anesthetic drugs, a drug administration window for displaying drug administration data, at least one window disposed for the display of a pharmacokinetic graph and a pharmacodynamic graph, and a scale selector comprising a first condition wherein the pharmacokinetic model and the pharmacodynamic models are displayed and a second condition where only the pharmacokinetic model is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080091083
Abstract: A graphical user interface for the documentation of an administered anesthetic drug and the display of an associated pharmacokinetic model and an associated pharmacodynamic model. The graphical user interface comprises a first window that displays the drug administration data, and a second window displaying a pharmacokinetic model and a pharmacodynamic model, the second window being separate and distinct from the first window. The pharmacokinetic model and the pharmacodynamic models are overlaid and displayed and the pharmacokinetic model and the pharmacodynamic model are based on the drug administration data displayed in the first window.

  • Patent number: 6988990
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for using the computer keyboard and/or speech recognition technology to automatically fill an image annotation during an ultrasound scan. More specifically, it provides a method and a system for annotating a displayed ultrasound image using commands that is comprised of; providing an annotation vocabulary sorted in descending order of usage frequency providing a method to select a subset of words from the vocabulary that are relevant to the imaged anatomy, detecting the initial command, selecting a suggestion list from the selected sub-vocabulary, and displaying the suggestion list to the user for optional acceptance or further specification.
