  • Publication number: 20150065382
Abstract: Methods for producing and identifying fragments of proteins, and more particularly to methods for generating and identifying soluble protein domains are disclosed based on a method for generating a library of nucleic acid fragments from nucleic acid encoding a desired polypeptide, and more especially a library of essentially, randomly sampled fragments of coding DNA sequence predominantly of defined size range and a method for selecting cloned gene fragments from the library that encode soluble protein domains.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 5, 2014
    Publication date: March 5, 2015
Inventors: Mark McAlister, Renos Savva, Laurence Pearl, Chrisostomos Prodromou, Paul C. Driscoll

  • Publication number: 20070010432
Abstract: This invention relates the identification of a novel co-factor (termed ‘Aha1’) that interacts with the molecular chaperone Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) and stimulates Hsp90 activity. Various assay methods and therapeutic applications based on this interaction are provided.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 4, 2003
    Publication date: January 11, 2007
Inventors: Paul Workman, Wynne Ahern, Laurence Pearl, Chrisostomos Prodromou
  • Publication number: 20060057682
Abstract: The present invention relates to a variant archaeal DNA polymerase having a modified amino acid sequence of a wild-type amino acid sequence, the modified sequence being in the amino-terminal amino acids that comprise a uracil-binding pocket in the wild-type polymerase whereby the variant polymerase has reduced affinity for uracil than the wild-type polymerase. Such variant polymerases may be usefully employed in biological assay systems such as the polymerase chain reaction.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: March 16, 2006
    Applicant: the university of newcastle
Inventors: Bernard Connolly, Mark Fogg, Laurence Pearl
  • Publication number: 20050222230
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the use of certain 3,4-diarylpyrazoles of formula (I), both in vitro and in vivo, to inhibit heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), and in the treatment of conditions mediated by HSP90, including, for example, cancer; wherein: Ar3 is independently: a C5-20aryl group, and is optionally substituted; Ar4 is independently: a C5-20aryl group, and is optionally substituted; R5 is independently: hydrogen; halo; hydroxy; ether; formyl; acyl; carboxy; ester, acyloxy; oxycarbonyloxy; amido; acylamido; aminocarbonyloxy; tetrazolyl; amino; nitro; cyano; azido; sulfhydryl; thioether; sulfonamido; C1-7alkyl; C3-20heterocycyl; or C5-20aryl; R<SP>N</SP> is independently: —H; C1-7alkyl; C3-20heterocycyl; or, C5-20aryl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, amides, esters, ethers, chemically protected forms, and prodrugs thereof.
