  • Publication number: 20090107577
Abstract: The inventive method for filling a pressure gas container from a gas source pressure with a high pressure for a predetermined filling time selected or calculated prior to filling and at a determined temperature consists in forming a connection in the form of a fluid passage between the source and container, in carrying out a plurality of the passage opening-closing sequences during predetermined sub-intervals of the predetermined filling time, wherein the curve of a current pressure in the container follows, according to a time, a theoretical straight line linking the pressure measured prior to filling and after thereof during the filling time, the predetermined filling time is subdivided into a number of the time sub-intervals ranging from two to several hundreds and having respective determined duration, preferably ranging from 5 and 20 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20090090725
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a reservoir, in particular a cryogenic reservoir, provided with two concentric envelops (1, 3), i.e. the internal (1) and external (3), respectively, defining an interwall space (2) therebetween, wherein said internal space (2) is exposable to a reduced operational pressure and the internal envelop (1) is exposable to an internal positive process.

  • Publication number: 20090025400
Abstract: Method for protecting a cryogenic tank, the tank comprising two concentric casings between them delimiting an inter-wall space in which a so-called low pressure obtains, the method involving: a step of detecting an impact on the tank and/or an increase in pressure within the inter-wall space, characterized in that it involves a step of generating a stream of inert gas within the inter-wall space only if an impact on the tank of a determined intensity and/or a determined increase in pressure at the inter-wall space is/are detected.

  • Publication number: 20090014671
Abstract: Solenoid valve including a seat body connected via an elongate tube to a valve head supporting the electromagnetic actuator, wherein said valve head is sealingly mounted in a wall of an evacuated valve box insulating the tube and the seat body from the outside. The invention is useful in particular in controlling a flow of cryogenic fuel, specifically liquid hydrogen, in a motor vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080302238
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of adjusting a unit that is used to control an installation for the adsorption treatment of a gas, comprising: at least a first member and a second member (2, 5, R0, . . . , R9) which receive a gas; a connection conduit (3, 4, 6, 7) which connects the first and second members to one another; and a valve on the connection conduit, which is closed and opened selectively in accordance with a variable valve-opening parameter. The control unit controls the opening of the valve according to the opening parameter on the basis of: an earlier opening parameter for the valve, a provisional valve opening parameter and at least one correction parameter. The inventive method comprises a step (a) in which the correction parameter is adjusted as a function of the installation and flow parameters.

  • Publication number: 20080041091
Abstract: A cryogenic fluid tank comprising an outer envelope (2) and an inner envelope (1), wherein the space between said envelopes is occupied by a multilayered insulation structure (3) wherein the inner envelope (1) is supported on a point of articulation (A) formed by a support structure (6) coupled to the outer envelope (2) and extending into the latter, wherein the point of articulation is located above the center of gravity (G) of the inner envelope. Applications: cryogenic fuel tanks in motor vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20070186566
Abstract: The inventive cryogenic fluid pumping system comprises at least one cryogenic fluid tank (8a, 8b), a cryogenic pump (18) having an input friction loss (NPSH) and a suction line (23a, 23b) connecting said tank (8a, 8b) to said pump (18). According to the invention, the pumping system comprises pressure control means for maintaining pressure in the suction line (23a, 23b) in such a way that said pressure is equal to or higher than an increased cryogenic fluid saturation pressure and the input friction loss (NPSH) of the cryogenic pump (18). Said invention can be used for pumping low-dense cryogenic fluids.

  • Publication number: 20070155224
Abstract: The female part (F) receiving the male part (M) comprises internally a tubular guide (4) with which the male part cooperates in a tight sealing manner (joint 20); the male and female parts respectively comprise at the input thereof a pivoting insulation flap (19; 17) which can open in a sequence when the male part penetrates the female part prior to the opening of the flap valves (15; 9) of the portions of the fluid circuit (13,7). The invention can be used to fill tanks of automobiles with cryogenic fluid, particularly liquid hydrogen.
