  • Publication number: 20120155219
Abstract: A sensing and data recording downhole system and method for monitoring of firing of a perforating gun system in a well, including a perforating gun system having charges or bullets for performing well perforation; and one or more downhole recorders and/or one or more fluid detection sensors located above, along, below or in array on the perforating gun system or inside the perforating gun system on a conveyance and configured to at least one of record sound waves generated by explosions of the charges or bullets during the firing of the perforating gun system and detect a presence of fluid within a body of the perforating gun system before and after guns of the perforating gun system are fired.

  • Publication number: 20110158050
Abstract: A wireless modem for communication in a network of wireless modems via a communication channel includes a transceiver assembly, transceiver electronics and a power supply. The transceiver electronics include transmitter electronics, receiver electronics and at least one processing unit. The transmitter electronics cause the transceiver assembly to send wireless signals into the communication channel. The receiver electronics decode signals received by the transceiver assembly.

  • Patent number: 7866708
Abstract: An apparatus includes a connector to connect a first tubing section and a second tubing section together. The connector that includes a body that includes a first opening to receive the first tubing section, a second opening to receive the second tubing section, and a passageway. The apparatus includes a member that is adapted to be moved from a retracted position to an extended position to form a sealed connection between a tubular member that is connected to the first tubing section and the passageway.

  • Publication number: 20100165788
Abstract: An acoustic transceiver assembly including a housing, an oscillator, and a blocking element. The housing has at least one inner wall defining a cavity. The cavity has a first end and a second end defining an axis of said acoustic transceiver assembly. The oscillator is provided in said cavity. The oscillator is provided with a transducer element, and a backing mass positioned adjacent to the transducer element. A blocking element is positioned inside the cavity and adjacent to the oscillator. The blocking element is adapted to restrain a portion of said backing mass at a first pressure to thereby restrain the backing mass from lateral movement relative to the axis of the acoustic transceiver assembly. The blocking element is also adapted to release the backing mass at a second pressure.

  • Publication number: 20060279078
Abstract: An apparatus includes a first connector and a member. The first connector connects a first tubing section and a second tubing section together. The member is adapted to be moved from a retracted to an extended position to form a sealed connection between a first tubular member that is connected to the first tubing section and a second tubular member that is connected to the second tubing section. In another embodiment of the invention, an apparatus includes a first connector and a member. The first connector forms a connection between a first tubing section and the second tubing section and leaves a gap between a first end of a first tubular member that is connected to the first tubing section and a second end of a second tubular member that is connected to the second tubing section. The member is inserted into the gap to seal the first tubular member and the second tubular member together.
