  • Patent number: 5086575
Abstract: A shock-absorbing sole for a ski boot. The sole of the ski boot includes at least one elastically deformable element and at least one stiffener, which together comprise the shock absorption apparatus of the invention. The stiffener gives the sole its necessary rigidity for cooperation with the ski bindings. The elastically deformable element, on the other hand, absorbs forces that are encountered during skiing. The shock absorption apparatus can be included in a removable end plate so that the elastically deformable elements can be conveniently replaced to thereby permit the skier to insert an element having the properties he desires. The elastically deformable elements can be either flush with the lower surface of the sole or, alternatively, can be sandwiched within the thickness of the sole.

  • Patent number: 5005303
Abstract: A rear-entry ski boot having a rigid shell and an upper constituted by a front cuff and a rear spoiler, and system for fastening and adjusting the boot on the lower leg of the skier. The upper includes a central sleeve journalled on the shell base and having a front opening and a rear opening defined by the two lateral walls of the upper part; a rear spoiler journalled on the sleeve and adapted to close the rear opening of the sleeve; and a front cuff journalled on a lower front zone of the sleeve and adapted to close the front opening of the sleeve. With the construction of the ski boot, the upper is made adjustable to more effectively support the skier's lower leg. Various latching mechanisms and locking mechanisms are also provided.

  • Patent number: 4910889
Abstract: A boot liner, preferably for use with a ski boot of the rear-entry type, including an exterior envelope and an interior sock, having an injection cavity therebetween. Within the injection cavity, a filling product is designed to be injected for retaining the foot of the skier within the boot liner and within the ski boot within which it is adapted to be used. The exterior envelope and the interior sock are sealed along a lower peripheral edge defining a sole portion of the boot liner. The peripheral edge is engageable within a peripheral groove in the internal wall of the exterior envelope to thereby seal the injection cavity from the sole portion of the boot liner to thereby prevent the filling product from flowing beneath the sole of the foot positioned within the boot liner. The injection cavity is defined by respective surfaces of the external envelope and the interior sock.
