  • Publication number: 20240251349
Abstract: An access point station (AP) configured for operation in a wireless local area network (WLAN) may establish a target wake-up time (TWT) agreement with a non-access point station (STA). The TWT agreement may comprise an unavailability period during which the STA is unavailable. During establishment of the TWT agreement, a priority threshold may be indicated by the STA. The AP may encode frames for transmission to the STA during a transmission opportunity (TXOP) established by the AP. The TXOP may begin prior to activation of the TWT agreement. The AP may continue to send the frames during the unavailability period of the TWT agreement when the unavailability period occurs during the TXOP and when a priority of the frames meets the priority threshold. When the priority of the frames does not meet the priority threshold, the AP may end the TXOP before the unavailability period and may refrain from sending frames to the STA during the unavailability period.

  • Patent number: 12022516
Abstract: Embodiments of a beacon interval with boundary time points (BTPs) to improve latency for time sensitive traffic (TST) in Extremely High Throughout (EHT) WLANS are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a non-access point (AP) station (STA) is configured to decode a beacon frame received from an AP STA. The beacon frame may indicate one or more BTPs within a beacon interval (BI). The non-AP STA may obtain a transmission opportunity (TXOP) for a transmission to the AP STA. The TXOP may be bounded by the one or more BTPs. The non-AP STA may encode a PPDU for transmission to the AP STA during the TXOP.

  • Patent number: 12022322
Abstract: An extremely high-throughput (EHT) station (STA) may encode a null data packet (NDP) announcement frame for transmission to include a high-efficiency (HE) subfield and a Ranging subfield in a Sounding Dialogue Token field. To identify the NDP announcement frame as an EHT NDP announcement frame (i.e., an EHT variant), the EHT STA may set both the HE subfield and the Ranging subfield in the Sounding Dialogue Token field to a value of one. When operating as an EHT access point (AP), the EHT STA may encode a trigger frame to include a Special User Info Field. The Special User Info Field may be identified by a predetermined value as an STA association identifier (AID) value. The use of the predetermined value as the AID value in the Special User Info Field indicates that the trigger frame is an EHT variant and indicates that the trigger frame is being sent by an EHT AP.
