  • Patent number: 11832171
Abstract: A method for toggling of a management entity in a telecommunications network is described, in which the network operator has defined at least one given set of at least three management entities. In one aspect, the method includes, for a first management entity of the set, as long as said first management entity is in service, during the registration of at least one client device on the network, the first management entity taking charge of this client device. The client device records the identity of the first management entity, as well as the identity of a second management entity of said set, which is provided to it by the first management entity. The first management entity shares or synchronizes with said second management entity the context data relating to this client device. If the first management entity goes off-service, each second management entity is informed thereof and takes charge of the client devices for which it has shared or synchronized the context data with the first management entity.

  • Patent number: 10292040
Abstract: Example methods, apparatuses, and systems are presented for enabling and facilitating roaming of subscribers of a Home Public Mobile Network (HPMN) equipped with Long-Term Evolution (LTE) devices into LTE access network of a Visited Public Mobile Network (VPMN) under certain circumstances that are not supported by specifications promulgated by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) or the Global System for Mobile Association (GSMA). For example, a method for managing mobile device roaming is presented that includes receiving, at a gateway associated with the VPMN, a request message from an LTE device associated with the HPMN, wherein the request message requests wireless access to an LTE access network associated with the VPMN, enabling, at the gateway, registration of the LTE device to the LTE access network associated with the VPMN, and providing, at the gateway, an Internet Protocol (IP) connection to the LTE device.

  • Patent number: 10028174
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a method and system for redirecting roaming network traffic in an LTE network. The method includes observing a registration process of a subscriber in a visited network. The method further includes sending one or more messages to the visited network to induce a re-registration attempt by the subscriber to another Radio Access Technology (RAT) network of the same visited network. The method further includes applying one or more legacy steering techniques to move the subscriber to a target visited network.

  • Patent number: 9794769
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method and system for enabling and facilitating roaming of subscribers of a home public land mobile network (HPLMN) equipped with long term evolution (LTE) devices into a LTE access network of a visited PLMN (VPLMN). Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services are not supported in the HPLMN or the roaming subscribers do not have the VoLTE services. The VPLMN only supports the VoLTE services. Alternatively, the VPLMN supports VoLTE and circuit switched fall back (CSFB) to a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network, but the roaming subscriber's LTE device does not support CSFB to the CDMA network. A non-VoLTE inbound roaming subscriber is registered in a home location register (HLR) as if the roaming subscriber were roaming in a VPLMN circuit switched domain. A local IMS subscription with telephony services is created and the telephony services are provided to the non-VoLTE inbound roaming subscriber.
