  • Publication number: 20120171177
Abstract: The present invention relates to a nutritional composition, in particular directed to toddlers and/or a weaning child, said nutritional composition comprising a protein source, a source of available carbohydrates, a lipid source, at least one probiotic microorganism, and prebiotics, wherein said lipid source comprises DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). The nutritional composition improves cognitive performance, in particular learning and memory of the child. Preferably, the composition comprises iron, zinc, vitamin D and/or sialic acid. Preferably, the composition comprises a source of phospholipids rich in DHA.

  • Patent number: 7328394
Abstract: A transmitter uses an adaptive forward error control scheme that includes redundant packets to reduce packet error rate at a receiver. The receiver analyzes the received packet error rate before correction to determine an optimal level of redundancy required to respect a maximum tolerated packet error rate after correction, and communicates this determined optimal level to the transmitter for controlling the amount of redundancy in subsequent transmissions from the transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20060126712
Abstract: The invention deals with rate control protocols having a probing phase during which the sending rate of the transmitter is repeatedly increased until a loss is reported by the receiver. Such probing phases are used by the transmitter to quickly increase its sending rate to a fair share of the transmission channel bandwidth. According to the invention, a fake loss is generated by the receiver when the sending rate has risen to the current capacity of the transmission channel so as to force the transmitter to terminate the probing. Application: wireless Internet access to audio-video streaming services.

  • Publication number: 20060031738
Abstract: The invention applies to packet transmission networks. It proposes an adaptive forward error control scheme implemented at the application level, allowing to respect a maximum tolerated packet error rate. According to the invention, the amount of redundancy is adapted so as to offer a correction capability allowing to respect said maximum tolerated packet error rate. Advantageously, the maximum tolerated packet error rate is set by the application.

  • Publication number: 20050209860
Abstract: The invention relates to an itinerary search method comprising a step of computing the itinerary from a criterion defined by a user (for example, a point of departure and a point of arrival) and a step of selecting service providers along the computed itinerary, said services being defined by the user.

  • Publication number: 20050201485
Abstract: The invention relates to the transmission of a data stream having an adaptable bitrate, referred to as data bitrate, via a transmission channel having a variable channel transmission rate. The receiver comprises a reception buffer and a decoder. According to the invention; a) a risk of data starvation and a risk of data overflow in said reception buffer are estimated; b) an estimation of the current channel transmission rate is calculated; c) an adaption of said data bitrate depending on said estimation of the current channel transmission rate is triggered if there is a risk of data starvation or a risk of data overflow.

  • Publication number: 20050172030
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for transmitting a data file containing a content of known duration encoded at an encoding rate that is higher than the channel transmission rate. The proposed method comprises the steps of: downloading the data by using a transport protocol with rate control (like TCP) during a first period of time, and streaming the data by using a transport protocol without rate control (like UDP) during a second period of time. The second period of time (streaming) is proportional to the known duration of the content. Advantageously, the proportionality factor is equal to one. Application transmission of audio/video via Internet.
