  • Publication number: 20090246568
Abstract: A system for generation of electric power on-board a motor vehicle of the type that includes a fuel cell, a reformer for supplying the fuel cell with hydrogen-rich gas, an air-compression device, and a control unit used to control the operation of the reformer. The reformer includes a main cold-plasma reformer and an auxiliary cold-plasma reformer that are mounted in parallel upstream of the fuel cell. In addition, a control valve, which is controlled by the control unit, is mounted upstream of the two cold-plasma reformers to supply compressed air, fuel, and water vapor either to the main reformer alone or to both reformers simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20080279749
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for further processing of the carbon-containing residue derived from fullerene production and from carbon-nanostructures production, characterized in that the residue is functionalized via introduction of chemical substituents, and the functionalization is carried out during or after the production process. The functionalized carbon-containing residue obtainable by the process is also provided, as is its use as a hydroxylating agent, wetting agent, additive in rubber compounds, and for tether-directed remote functionalization.

  • Publication number: 20070183959
Abstract: Continuous process for the production of carbon-based nanotubes, nanofibres and nanostructures, comprising the following steps: generating a plasma with electrical energy, introducing a carbon precursor and/or one or more catalysers and/or carrier plasma gas in a reaction zone of an airtight high temperature resistant vessel optionally having a thermal insulation lining, vaporizing the carbon precursor in the reaction zone at a very high temperature, preferably 4000° C.

  • Patent number: 6099696
Abstract: A process for converting carbon or carbonated compounds in a plasma into carbons having a defined nanostructure consists of a reaction chamber whose head part contains three electrodes, a plasma gas supply, and a carbon or carbonated compound supply. A process for preparing carbons having a defined nanostructure. Apparatus to carry out the processes.
