  • Patent number: 11187199
Abstract: A spray orifice disk for a valve for a flowing fluid and, in particular, for a metering or injection valve for an internal combustion engine, including a disk body and a spray orifice set-up, which is formed in the disk body and is configured with at least one spray orifice for dispensing supplied fluid, and including at least one channel for supplying the fluid to the spray orifice. The spray orifice, the channel and/or the transition between the channel and the spray orifice being configured to form a swirl geometry of the spray orifice disk in such a manner, that during operation, due to interaction of one or more jets of the fluid emerging from the spray orifice in turbulence atomization, an oval cross-sectional pattern of the spray is formed, in particular, in the form of a flat spray.

  • Publication number: 20180355833
Abstract: A spray orifice disk for a valve for a flowing fluid and, in particular, for a metering or injection valve for an internal combustion engine, including a disk body and a spray orifice set-up, which is formed in the disk body and is configured with at least three spray orifices, each for dispensing supplied fluid. The spray orifices are being configured to form a swirl geometry of the spray orifice disk in such a manner that during operation, a combined spray is formed from at least three individual jets by interaction of a plurality of at least three individual jets of fluid emerging in atomized form from the spray orifices.

  • Patent number: 9587608
Abstract: A metering valve or an injector includes: a valve-seat member which closes a valve chamber and has a central valve opening, and a spray orifice disk downstream from the valve-seat member in the flow direction of the fluid, which has at least one spray orifice. The spray orifice disk has a swirl chamber concentric with the spray orifice and at least one swirl duct leading from the swirl chamber to beneath the valve opening, and the swirl chamber and swirl duct are integrally formed as recesses into the disk surface of the spray orifice disk facing the valve body. The swirl duct has a duct cross section and the spray orifice has an orifice cross section such that the ratio of the duct cross section to the orifice cross section is equal to or greater than 1.5.

  • Publication number: 20070084845
Abstract: A sheathed-element glow plug for an internal combustion engine is described. It includes a plug housing, a connection part for the electrical current that is situated on the plug housing as well as a sheathed-element heater, which is usually in the form of a tube including an embedded heating element. The connecting part and the heating element are electrically coupled by a terminal pin and a contact element. The terminal pin and the contact element are at least partially surrounded within the housing by an electrically insulating plastic sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6949717
Abstract: A pin heater in a sheathed-element glow plug and a sheathed-element glow plug for internal combustion engines, which have improved electrical and mechanical properties, are described. The pin heater has at least one essentially internal insulating layer and one essentially external first conductive layer, both layers including ceramic composite structures. The pin heater includes a second conductive layer, which also includes a ceramic composite structure. The second conductive layer is bonded to the first conductive layer in the region of a combustion chamber side tip of the pin heater. The second conductive layer runs inside the insulating layer.

Abstract: A pin heater (1) in a sheathed-element glow plug (5) and a sheathed-element glow plug (5) for internal combustion engines, which have improved electrical and mechanical properties, are described. The pin heater (1) has at least one essentially internal insulating layer (10) and one essentially external first conductive layer (15, 16), both layers (10; 15, 16) including ceramic composite structures. The pin heater (1) includes a second conductive layer (20), which also includes a ceramic composite structure. The second conductive layer (20) is bonded to the first conductive layer (15, 16) in the region of a combustion chamber side tip (40) of the pin heater (1). The second conductive layer (20) runs inside the insulating layer (10).
