    Abstract: The present invention relates to aerogels based on a polymer obtained by polymerization of at least one aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbonaceous monomer optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms which comprises at least two ethylenic functional groups or based on a copolymer obtained by polymerization of at least one monomer having a definition identical to that given above with at least one comonomer which can be polymerized with the said monomer. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the said aerogels. Application of the said aerogels in the fields of acoustic or thermal insulation and of microporous membranes.
