  • Patent number: 6859497
Abstract: A command frame according to the invention comprises at least one last command with a continue bit, and a number of padding bits so that the frame occupies an integer number of words. It is designed to allow the position of the continue bit of last command to be determined. A method according to the invention of concatenating a first and a second command frame comprises the following steps: a) determination of the position of the continue bit of the last command of the first frame, b) modification of the continue bit of the last command of the first frame, c) suppression of the non-significant bits of the first frame, d) insertion of at least one command from the second frame after the modified continue bit, e) addition of a number of padding bits in order to form a new frame that occupies an integer number of words.

  • Patent number: 6853383
Abstract: A method of processing images in images comprising three-dimensional objects, the method comprising a step of mapping a two-dimensional image on a face of a three-dimensional object, a step of interaction between a user and the two-dimensional image mapped on the three-dimensional image, intended to enable a user to displace the whole or part of the two-dimensional image on the face of the three-dimensional object. This method enables the user to map a fixed 2D image or a video image on a face of a 3D object, and to displace the image as he wishes on the face of the object he has selected. If the image is constituted by several parts, for example, the parts of a puzzle, the user can independently displace each part of this image, for example, so as to reconstitute the initial image of the puzzle.

  • Publication number: 20030167468
Abstract: The invention relates to a video-processing method and system for enriching one or several primary video signals by association of additional data in a video scene encoded in accordance with the MPEG4 standard, this associating allowing simultaneous display of a primary video signal and said additional data, and enabling a user to interact with and access the contents of said additional data.

  • Patent number: 6564382
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of playing a set of multimedia applications (A), each multimedia application including a list of tasks (TTD). The method includes the steps of creating a common scheduler (SCH) at a start time, in order to provide a target time, registering the tasks into the scheduler, and controlling the execution of the tasks as a function of the target time. The method also includes a step of giving a priority level to the task and the scheduler is adapted to control the execution of the tasks as a function of the target time and the priority level. The method further includes a step of computing a local time for a task from the target time provided by the scheduler and timing information associated with said task. With such a mechanism, each task has its own time reference, thus ensuring a correct operation of the overall application, while a global notion of schedule is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20030010938
Abstract: The invention concerns a container for transporting or storing radioactive materials comprising two separate confinement chambers, nested one in the other. The outer confinement chamber comprises at least an inside part of a body (10), a lid (12) and sealing members (16) interposed between them. The inner confinement chamber comprises a container (18) a plug (22) and sealing members (24) interposed between them. A flange (18b) of the container is supported against a shoulder (20) of the body (10). The plug (22) is pressed against the flange (18b) by fixing members (28, 30) advantageously anchored in the body (10).

  • Publication number: 20030001877
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of describing multimedia scenes. A data stream in the BIFS format 121 comprises, in conventional manner, two types of data, descriptions of the scenes 122 and commands 123. According to the invention, a data-processing device intended to convert data from a first format, for example, the BIFS text format, into a second format, for example, the BIFS binary format, comprises a scene transcoder 101 intended to convert the descriptions of the scenes 122 from the first format into the second format, and a command transcoder 111 intended to convert the commands 123 from the first format into the second format and having access to information comprised in the scene description. The invention is particularly interesting for conceiving descriptions of multimedia scenes using, for example, the MPEG4 standard.
