  • Patent number: 9626383
Abstract: Approaches for managing a library of digital images and information about any editing operations performed on those digital images are provided. A managed library of digital images and a referenced library of digital images may be maintained. Digital images may be moved from the managed library of digital images to the referenced library of digital images, and vice-versa. A preview digital image data may also be generated from master digital image data. Rather than performing image operations directly on the master digital image data, change data that identifies one or more operations to perform to a digital picture represented by either the preview digital image data or the master digital image data may be stored, thereby allowing operations to be performed on the preview digital image data when the master digital image data is not accessible. Digital image may be automatically renamed based on rules for doing so.

  • Patent number: 8751933
Abstract: Among other things, methods, systems and computer program products are disclosed for presenting a user interface for manipulation of audio waveforms associated with video content. In one aspect, a method can be performed by one or more processes executing on a computer system. Images representing video frames in a first region of a user interface can be displayed. An audio waveform representing audio associated with at least a portion of a video frame can be displayed. At least three audio waveform portions including (i) a first portion of the audio waveform that exceeds a first predetermined threshold, (ii) a second portion of the audio waveform below the first predetermined threshold and above a second predetermined threshold, and (iii) a third portion of the audio waveform below the second predetermined threshold can be graphically distinguished.

  • Publication number: 20130263057
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing digital images is provided. A collection of digital images may be managed using a digital image system that displays images using groups, stacks, and versions. A group is a set of unordered digital images that may be visually represented, in a first state, using a representative image, and in a second state, by each digital image in the group. Stacks are similar to groups, except that each digital image in a stack has a rank, and each digital image in the stack is depicted in order of its rank. Versions are similar to groups, except that one or more images in the group are derived from another image in the group.

  • Patent number: 8347210
Abstract: A computer-implemented method to synchronize video with beats in audio is described. Multiple video frames and multiple audio frames are displayed in a first and second bounded region, respectively, in a user interface. The multiple audio frames represent audio content that includes a periodic beat that is audible when the audio content is played. Input is received to associate one or more video frames with the multiple audio frames using a cursor. In response to the input, the first video frame is synchronized with a beat audio frame in the multiple audio frames. In response to a playback input, the first video frame is displayed in the user interface when the beat audio frame is played.

  • Patent number: 8194099
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying digital images on a display is provided. A set of items from a sequence of items is displayed. The sequence of items includes one or more undisplayed items that do not belong to the set of items. The set of items are displayed, in an arrangement that includes a plurality of lines, in an order that corresponds to the sequence. In response to user input that selects a particular item from the set of items, it is determined whether the number of lines, in the plurality of lines, that precede the line containing the particular item is less than a first predetermined threshold. If that is the case, a line of undisplayed items that precede the set of items is displayed, while a line of displayed items that follow the particular item is ceased to be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20100192095
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for viewing one or more items using a floating controller, wherein the floating controller displays a plurality of items from a sequence of items. In one implementation, the floating controller determines that a first item and a second item from the plurality of items have an association, and displays a visual indicator to indicate that the items are associated with each other. The visual indicator may be displayed between the first and the second item. Different visual indicators may be used to indicate different types of associations. Items on the floating controller may be selected by a user to display corresponding enlarged images. The corresponding enlarged images may be displayed side-by-side to allow them to be compared.

  • Patent number: 7719548
Abstract: A method and apparatus for viewing one or more images using a floating controller is provided. A collection of digital images may be managed using a digital image system that displays images using a floating controller. While a pointer is over the floating controller, the floating controller is continuously displayed, but when the pointer is moved off the floating controller, a period of time during which no user input of any type is tracked. If, while the pointer is off the toolbar, an idle period exceeds a predetermined threshold duration, then the floating controller is hidden. A set of images of a bounded sequence of images may be displayed on the floating controller. A visual indication that indicates whether a particular image in the set of images is either the first or last image in the bounded sequence may be displayed on each image of the set of images.

  • Patent number: 7705858
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying digital images on a display is provided. A pile of images that includes a plurality of images arranged in a first arrangement in which at least one image in the pile overlaps with at least one other image in the pile is displayed. Location data that indicates the location of each image in the first arrangement is stored. In response to first user input while the images of the pile are displayed in the first arrangement, without changing the location data, the images that belong to the pile are displayed in a second arrangement in which no image in the pile overlaps with any other image of the pile. In response to second user input while the images of the pile are displayed in the second arrangement, the pile of images are redisplayed in the first arrangement based on the location data.

A group is a set of unordered digital images that may be visually represented, in a first state, using a representative image, and in a second state, by each digital image in the group. Stacks are similar to groups, except that each digital image in a stack has a rank, and each digital image in the stack is depicted in order of its rank. • Publication number: 20050179705
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and graphical user interface (GUI) for navigating within the contents of a computer file, and specifically within a large non-paginated graphical file. A first portion of the file is displayed at a first magnification. Thereafter, an option is selected to display a second portion of the contents of the file (preferably the entire file) at a second lower magnification. An area is defined within the displayed second portion that highlights the first portion. This area is moveable, preferably by clicking and dragging the area using a mouse pointer, to a new (third location) on the file. Thereafter, the method allows the third portion to be automatically or manually magnified as was the first portion.
