  • Patent number: 8589577
Abstract: IP encapsulation equipment encapsulates, into bursts, IP packets representing sets of multimedia data delivered by at least one multimedia content server. The bursts are accompanied beforehand by information data at least partly defining the set of data that is integrated into those IP packets and/or the content of which that set of data forms part, with a view to the broadcasting thereof to receiver equipments via a communication network. The information data added to the received IP packets is analyzed to instruct the encapsulation means to encapsulate at least some of those IP packets in selected positions in the bursts as a function of the corresponding information data. In this manner, all the IP packets including, the data of a set, are encapsulated in a single burst.

  • Patent number: 8537749
Abstract: Within a user device to which a radio communication network infrastructure transmits data carried by a sequence of frames broadcast to the user device, each frame comprising a first section comprising data and a second section comprising redundancy information associated with the data of a predetermined number B of previous frames in the sequence, a number of consecutive lost frames is compared to a threshold dependent on the number B of previous frames with which said redundancy information is associated and encoding parameters that generate said redundancy information, and a request to retransmit at least one of the consecutive lost frames is sent to the radio communication network infrastructure if the number of consecutive lost frames exceeds said threshold.

  • Patent number: 7142522
Abstract: A satellite telecommunication system includes a plurality of user stations and at least one satellite. A resource manager for the satellite telecommunication system includes a congestion controller that assigns resources to uplinks, a demand assignment device that assigns resources to uplinks, and, for each satellite, a central entity that includes a subsystem of the congestion controller adapted to receive requests sent by user stations using the satellite, each request expressing the bit rate necessary for a group of connections supported by a user station and by the same downlink of the satellite, and to determine the bit rate authorized for the group of connections. • Patent number: 6545787
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of communication between ground stations via satellites traveling around the Earth and forming part of a constellation overflying at least a major portion of the Earth, each ground station communicating during a particular time with a given satellite of the constellation. Two ground stations communicate via respective given satellites with which the stations are respectively communicating. To minimize the control means on board each satellite, the two satellites communicate via a predetermined communications link. A link of the above kind generally comprises one or more predetermined satellites.
