  • Patent number: 6544791
Abstract: The invention relates to a nitrogenous composition resulting from the enzymatic hydrolysis of an aqueous solution of maize gluten, having a ratio of the concentrations or inorganic phosphorus to total phosphorus (Pi/Pt) greater than or equal to 0.05, preferably from 0.05 to 0.5 and a ratio of the concentrations of amine nitrogen to total nitrogen (Na/Nt) greater than or equal to 0.025. The invention also relates to the use of a nitrogenous composition according to the invention in culture media for microorganisms which produce, in particular, organic acid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 2002
Date of Patent: April 8, 2003
    Assignee: Roquette Freres
Inventors: Catherine Fouache, Laurent Seigueilha, Eric Dubois

  • Publication number: 20020079268
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a fermentation medium for producing high-purity metabolites from a renewable raw material, characterised in that it consists of optionally treating said renewable raw material to enrich it with carbon or nitrogen sources which can be directly assimilated by micro-organisms and to eliminate insoluble impurities, using a technique chosen from the group consisting of nanofiltration and electrodialysis, alone or in combination, to eliminate low molecular weight impurities from said renewable raw material without degrading its concentration of carbon sources which can be directly assimilated, treating the raw material from which the low molecular weight impurities have been eliminated in this way to top it up with nitrogen or carbon sources which can be directly assimilated by the micro-organisms, and recovering the fermentation medium obtained in this way.
