  • Patent number: 6864318
Abstract: A composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer having incorporated therein a crosslinked phase derived from the reaction of: (A) a copolymer made from ethylene and an unsaturated epoxide, a polyolefin grafted with an unsaturated epoxide, or a product having two epoxide groups, (B) a copolymer made from ethylene and an unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride, and (C) a copolymer made from an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an ?,?-aminocarboxylic acid.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6462129
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising: a matrix-forming thermoplastic polymer (M), rigid nodules obtained by radical polymerization, and optionally an impact modifier (S). It also relates to a process comprising, in a first stage, forming a homogeneous solution of precursor of the nodules in the thermoplastic (M) in the molten state, in a second stage, introducing the initiator while remaining at a temperature below which the initiator becomes active, and, in a third stage, heating to a temperature sufficient to cause crosslinking of the precursor and to form rigid nodules while kneading the composition, the impact modifier being introduced during the first or the second stage.

  • Patent number: 6368723
Abstract: The present invention relates to a film comprising at least one layer (A) of a mixture of polyamide and polyethylene, and optionally a layer (B) of polyethylene, such that if the polyethylene, of the layer (A) is not a metallocene polyethylene then the layer (B) is obligatory and essentially consists of metallocene polyethylene. These films are used for the moulding of polyesters, for fumigation or for the manufacture of packaging.

  • Patent number: 6203920
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions comprising a matrix of an alloy of (a) polyamide and (b) polymer having polyamide blocks and polyether blocks, dispersed in which matrix is a crosslinked phase (c), the said compositions having a melt strength of more than 1.5 and a flexural modulus at 23° C. (in accordance with ISO 178-93) of less than 700 MPa and preferably between 50 and 250 MPa. Such a composition is useful for manufacturing extrusion blow-moulded parts, especially for cars. It also relates to articles additionally comprising a part made of polyamide and polyolefin or of a mixture of polyamide and polyolefin.
