  • Patent number: 9643465
Abstract: An anti-skate device for a drive axle of a motor vehicle may include a free-spinning body having an axis of rotation that is generally perpendicular to the drive axle of the vehicle. The free-spinning body may be coupled to the drive axle by a rotational damper.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2014
Date of Patent: May 9, 2017
    Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLC

  • Patent number: 9211932
Abstract: A self-propelled unicycle is selectively engaged with a vehicle for use with the vehicle and is selectively disengaged with the vehicle for independent use. The self-propelled unicycle includes a hub and a wheel rotatably coupled to the hub. A motor is supported on the hub and is coupled to the wheel for rotating the wheel relative to the hub. The hub including an engagement feature for selectively engaging and disengaging the vehicle.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8033556
Abstract: A combined tramp rod and anti-roll bar is secured between a rear axle beam and the chassis of a vehicle. The tramp rod and anti-roll bar has an intermediate portion, a right arm and a left arm that are connected by bushings to either the rear axle beam or the frame of the vehicle. The combined tramp rod and anti-roll bar provides roll stiffness control and also resists wind-up of the rear axle when high torque loads are applied to the rear axle. D-bushings that resist sliding movement of the intermediate portion in combination with the splayed arms provide improved compliance understeer performance when lateral loads are applied to the rear suspension.
