  • Publication number: 20230062312
Abstract: An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core having a longitudinally extending channel-forming area and a wetness indicator. The core wrap comprises a top side and a bottom side, which are attached to each other through areas substantially free of absorbent material, so that when the absorbent material swells upon absorption of a liquid a channel is formed along the area substantially free of absorbent material.

  • Patent number: 10953129
Abstract: The present invention relates to wetness indicator compositions that comprise at least one leuco dye and one color developer in a hot-melt adhesive matrix. Upon contact with water or with water-containing fluids, said wetness indicator compositions are apt to change their color from a colorless state to a colorful state or from a first colored state to a second colored state having a color different from the first one; in particular, from a first colorless, white, or translucent state to a second state having a visible color, or vice versa. The disclosed wetness indicator compositions can be used as wetness/fluid indicators in various applications, e.g. in packaging articles and in absorbent articles; in an absorbent mat or sheet or operatory cloth for medical use; in a wound dressing product; in an absorbent mat or sheet for food products.

  • Publication number: 20160001082
Abstract: A method of selectively blocking a portion of a nerve signal is disclosed. The method may include the step of providing an electrode around a subject's peripheral nerve and connecting the electrode to a stimulator. The stimulator may then energize the electrode with a continuous periodic waveform of at least 50 kHz. This energization of the electrode can result in the selective block of one of: 1) a fast portion of a nerve signal having a conduction velocity greater than 2 m/s, and 2) a slow portion of the nerve signal having a conduction velocity less than 2 m/s. A method according to the present disclosure may allow the non-blocked portion of the nerve signal to be conducted substantially unimpeded.
