  • Patent number: 11386079
Abstract: An augmented sleepable read-copy update implementation (PREEMPT_SRCU) combines elements of a tree-based sleepable read-copy update environment (Tree-SRCU) with elements of a preemptible read-copy update environment (Preemptible-RCU). The elements of Tree-SRCU may be used to manage PREEMPT_SRCU grace periods and handle PREEMPT_SRCU callbacks. The elements of Preemptible-RCU may be used to drive existing PREEMPT_SRCU grace periods to completion.

Inventors: Paul E. McKenney, Lawrence Roy
  • Patent number: 11323756
Abstract: Extended reality presentations (e.g., augmented reality, augmented virtuality, and virtual reality) are often presented as multimodal experiences involving a combination of visual, audio, and haptic input and output channels. Users who have a deficit in one modality may consume other channels of the extended reality presentation, but the absence of the deficit modality may render the extended reality presentation incomplete or incomprehensible. Instead, for users with a deficit in a source modality, a modality may be identified as an annotation modality in which the user does not have a deficit. An annotation set of annotations in the annotation modality may be generated that respectively describe an event arising in a source channel in the source modality. The annotation set may be presented to the user (either supplementing the source channel or in lieu of the source channel), thereby adapting the extended reality presentation to the physiological capabilities of the user.

  • Patent number: 6050876
Abstract: An automated apparatus for testing a plurality of sample wheels includes a grindstone, a first programmable servo motor coupled to the grindstone, a plurality sample wheels disposed about a circumference of the grindstone, and a second programmable servo motor coupled to each of the plurality of sample wheels. In addition, the automated apparatus also includes a controller that outputs a first control signal to the first programmable servo motor and a second control signal to the second programmable servo motor to provide a variable slip ratio between the grindstone and the plurality of sample wheels. The controller includes a simulator that simulates a plurality of road conditions and varies the plurality of slip ratios to simulate the plurality of road conditions.
