    Abstract: A continuous, steady-state process for precipitating dissolved orthophosphate from an aqueous system, wherein a slurry of seed crystals of calcium phosphate, formed under critical conditions, is introduced into a reactor region, the phosphate-containing water is fed into the region under certain conditions of pH and calcium content, and the dissolved phosphates are precipitated at a rate equal to the feed rate, such that the residual dissolved phosphorus level of the treated water is below 50 parts per billion.
