Abstract: A gate electrode control structure of an MOS-gated semiconductor device includes four doped regions including a first (source) region forming a first P-N junction with an enclosing composite region comprising a second, lightly doped (channel) region wholly enclosing a third heavily doped (body) region partly enclosing the first region, and a fourth (drain) region forming a P-N junction with the third region. The gate electrode control structure is fabricated using known gate electrode self-alignment doping processes but wherein, in the process for forming the third heavily doped region, a spacer layer is provided on the gate electrode for defining a spacing between the third region and the channel region with an improved degree of precision.

Abstract: Solid absorbent materials, having adsorbed thereto from about 1000 ppm to about 10,000 ppm of a undecylenic acid, when used as animal litter products, effectively prevent the development of urine odors. Absorbent pads having absorbed thereto from about 5000 ppm to about 100,000 ppm of the undecylenic acid when used as liners in litter boxes likewise effectively control odor development.

Abstract: A composition of matter capable of rapidly reducing free metal ion concentration in an aqueous solution when added thereto containing a material capable of forming a water-insoluble reaction product with said free metal ions and a crystallization seed which provides growth sites for said reaction product so as to cause rapid precipitation of said reaction product. The rapid precipitation of the reaction product has the effect of rapidly reducing the free metal ion concentration of the aqueous solution.

Abstract: An aqueous emulsion comprising a fatty alkyl ester of a polyhydric alcohol and a cationic surfactant provides a fabric softening composition of unexpected efficacy. In particular, the use of a sorbitan ester with a cationic surfactant provides a softening agent which deposits effectively onto fabric from an aqueous bath.

Abstract: Anti-static fabric softening articles and methods which utilize a composition comprising a cationic fabric softener in combination with lanolin alcohols (or certain derivatives thereof) as a second fabric softener and release aid. The composition is releasably affixed or incorporated into a dispensing means and applied to fabrics in an automatic laundry dryer.
