  • Patent number: 10335896
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for an improved boresighting apparatus and related method for boresighting a light source to an imaging sensor, and for an improved material to be used in a target object in such a boresighting apparatus. For example, an apparatus for use in boresighting may include a catadioptric element and a target object, where the catadioptric element is configured to focus a laser beam from the light source and also to collimate light emitted from the target object at a different wavelength than the laser beam to be detected by the imaging sensor for indicating the location of the focused laser beam. The target object may, for example, comprises a fluorescent optical material doped with one or more optically active ions to absorb light having the wavelength of the laser beam and emit light in one or more wavebands detectable by the imaging sensors.

  • Publication number: 20150099233
Abstract: A combustion system comprises a combustion chamber and a flue gas duct located downstream of the combustion chamber to receive combustion products from the combustion chamber, the combustion chamber has a base and an enclosing wall connecting the base to the flue gas duct. The combustion chamber is provided with a plurality of combustion devices, the combustion devices being configured to deliver fuel and gas and/or air into the combustion chamber so as to generate a fireball within a combustion zone in the combustion chamber, the combustion devices further being configured such that the generated fireball rotates about an axis extending between the base and the flue duct. A secondary gas and/or air nozzle is provided in the base of the combustion chamber, at a location upstream of the combustion zone, the nozzle being for delivering gas and/or air into the combustion zone in a direction towards the flue duct.

  • Publication number: 20050279263
Abstract: A tangential fired boiler includes a circumferential wall defining a combustion zone, the circumferential wall being generally rectangular when viewed along a generally horizontal cross-section. A fireball is disposed within the combustion zone, the fireball rotating about an imaginary axis when viewed along a generally horizontal cross-section. A corner member is disposed proximate to at least one corner of the combustion zone, with a plurality of fuel inlets disposed along the corner member. The plurality of fuel inlets inject fuel into the combustion zone, and at least some of the plurality of fuel inlets inject fuel in a direction which is angled with respect to a normal of the corner member and upstream relative to a direction of rotation of the fireball.

  • Patent number: 5653281
Abstract: An air-cooled steam condensing module with an integral vent condenser has a steam header, one or more rows of condensing tubes between the steam header and a (generally lower) common condensate header. The module also has at least one row of vent condenser or dephlegmator tubes located adjacent the condensing tubes which connect the lower header to a vent header. The dephlegmator tubes may be of the same or larger diameter than the condensing tubes.

  • Patent number: 4667491
Abstract: A portable lock box is disclosed that is formed from an outer four-sided hollow tubular elongated structure having a rectangular cross-section with an elongated slot form transverse to the housing and an inner housing having closed end U-shaped members in overlapping leg configuration secured to each other in which one of the legs has a cooperating elongated slot to admit the latch member of a cam lock that is secured to one of the closed ends of the U-shaped members. A tray is provided to secure the valuables within the inner housing and a looped steel cable extends through a pair of slots formed in the edge of one of the closed ends of the U-shaped members.
