Patent number: 11947605Abstract: A system and method for a patent search and analytics software tool that finds prior art for each claim limitation/element by breaking up claims into individual claim limitations. Once the claims are separated, the system finds the best prior art for each of the individual separate, different claim limitations/elements. Additionally, the software finds the best prior art for entire claims, including non-patent literature (NPL) searching. The system takes into account the limitations of the claim under consideration (query claim of query patent), the text of the art, the link structure of the citation network, and the patent classification and then constructs a network that consists of two types of nodes: (i) the art (patents and non-patent literature) and the (ii) classes of the patent classification. Each art node is linked to all the art nodes that it cites and is linked to all the classification nodes that it belongs to.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Inventors: Erich Lawson Spangenberg, Daniel Lawrence Bork, Pascal Asselot, Brian Joshua Berman, George Karypis

Patent number: 6874340Abstract: A parking meter has a vault housing and a vault door removably covering a main opening and having a back facing an interior of the housing. A lock assembly includes a lock cylinder disposed on the door and that has a body and a usually movable portion. A bolting mechanism operatively connects to the movable portion of the lock cylinder for selectively providing a locked position. A support structure is disposed on the interior side of the door and holds the bolting mechanism. A removable retainer engages the body of the lock cylinder, which is usually stationary. This results in the retainer preventing motion of the body sufficient to operate the bolting mechanism. The support structure is configured for releasably maintaining the retainer on the lock cylinder body. The vault housing defines a tool hole providing access to the interior of the housing for insertion of a disengagement tool through the tool hole.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2002Date of Patent: April 5, 2005Assignee: Duncan IndustriesInventor: Lawrence Berman

Patent number: 6354425Abstract: A parking meter consisting of a housing and a stanchion located adjacent a parking space for mounting of the parking meter thereon. The stanchion has a tubular upper end portion and the parking meter has a tubular lower end portion for positioning around the upper end of the stanchion. A fitting is attached to the upper end of the stanchion and gear teeth are defined by the fitting. The lower end of the meter housing has formed therein a set of gear teeth adapted to mesh with the gear teeth of the fitting in any one of several available relative positions. A bolt and pin combination is employed for providing a high security connection of the fitting and upper housing to the stanchion. Passages are provided so that rainwater and the like is directed outside of the housing and stanchion and does not accumulate within the meter housing.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2000Date of Patent: March 12, 2002Assignee: Duncan IndustriesInventors: Gorm Tuxen, Todd Magness, Lawrence Berman
